Block print designs for NGO Joyn Bags

Joyn holds such a special place in my heart. An NGO based in my home town that works with marginalized communities in Dehradun, India, has been committed to making handbags crafted with the help of local artisans of the small rural communities settled in the foothills of Himalayas. The fabric is produced in a leper colony called KKM and hand block printed by artisans at the Joyn HQ in Rajpur, Dehradun.

I was commissioned to design the spring line of prints for the handbag company, and I worked closely with Zoe Ray Tuckey, Joyn’s bag designer to design this line. We focused on maintaining the classic Joyn voice whilst bringing in a tinge of freshness with the swaying of spring.

To buy the bags and contribute to the community, visit Joyn.
